Occasions

The whole boat is yours, and nobody else is on it

A Bae Boats rental is a private boat. There is no skipper, no other group and no schedule beyond the hours you book. For a celebration that matters — the only thing that changes the whole feel of the day.

You drive it yourselves, so you decide where to go and when to stop. Park up beside the houseboat rows in Alameda, drift off the Sausalito floating homes, cut the motor and eat lunch on the water with the city skyline in front of you. Six miles per hour turns out to be exactly the right speed for a long conversation.

Everything you need is already on board: a picnic table, Bluetooth speakers and life jackets for adults and children. Bring your own food and drinks, or have a charcuterie box from Mosley's Café or a picnic from FISH delivered to your boat before you depart.

Birthdays

Bring the cake, bring the playlist, bring the decorations. The picnic table becomes the party table, and the estuary or Richardson Bay becomes the backdrop. Add a balloon delivery from Lifted Balloons in Alameda and everything is waiting at the dock when you arrive.

Proposals and date nights

Book a two- or three-hour cruise into golden hour, head out into open water and cut the motor. It is quiet, private and a genuinely unusual place to ask. Tell us what you are planning and we will make sure the boat and the timing are right.

Bachelorette and group afternoons

Groups of up to 10 per boat, with several boats available side by side at Grand Marina. The pink Fantail is the obvious choice for photographs; the Suncruiser is the better pick when you want both sun and shade.

Celebration FAQs

Yes. Bring your own cake, drinks and decorations — the picnic table is the natural place to set them up. We can also arrange a balloon delivery from our Alameda partner Lifted Balloons, timed to your departure, and charcuterie from Mosley's Café delivered to the boat.

Up to 10 guests on the Duffy Suncruiser and the Duffy Old Bay, and up to 8 on the pink Fantail. For larger parties we can book several boats at the same marina so your group travels together — up to about 40 guests across four boats in Alameda.

It happens often. Golden hour on Richardson Bay or the Oakland Estuary is quiet, private and genuinely beautiful. Book a two- or three-hour cruise, tell us what you are planning, and we will make sure the boat is ready and the timing works. We can also have flowers or balloons waiting on the picnic table.

Yes. Every boat has Bluetooth speakers on board, so bring a playlist and connect when you cast off.

For the warmest light and calmest water, book a cruise that finishes around sunset. In summer that means starting between 5 pm and 6 pm; in winter, earlier. Our dock team will advise on the best slot for your date when you call.

Choose your marina, boat and rental length. If you are planning something specific, call us first and we will help you pick the right slot.

Cancellation & weather policy. Cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before departure and your payment moves to a new date or converts to gift-card credit. Cancellations inside 24 hours and no-shows are charged in full. If Bae Boats cancels because of weather or an unforeseen issue, you choose a full refund or a credit.
