Why the Suncruiser is the one most guests choose
The Duffy Suncruiser is the middle of our fleet and the boat that suits the widest range of occasions. It is the only Bae Boats model in Alameda with both an enclosed, weatherproof cabin and a genuine open-air deck, so your group can spread out instead of sitting shoulder to shoulder.
That combination matters on the Bay. Mornings on the estuary are often glassy and warm; afternoons can turn breezy. On the Suncruiser you can stay in the sheltered cabin with the windows open, or move to the back deck and put your feet up. Either way the boat moves at a quiet six miles per hour — fast enough to reach the houseboats and the skyline, slow enough to hold a conversation without raising your voice.
The Suncruiser seats up to ten guests and is self-captained. You drive it yourself after a short briefing from our dock team. No California Boater Card, no licence, no prior boating experience required.

- First-time boaters. The estuary is a no-wake, protected waterway. Most guests are driving confidently within ten minutes of leaving the dock.

Cancellation & weather policy. Cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before departure and your payment moves to a new date or converts to gift-card credit. Cancellations inside 24 hours and no-shows are charged in full. If Bae Boats cancels because of weather or an unforeseen issue, you choose a full refund or a credit.

No licence and no California Boater Card are required. The driver must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver's licence. Every Bae Boats rental begins with a safety briefing and a map of the approved cruising area on the Oakland Estuary.
The Suncruiser carries up to 10 guests. Children count toward the total. There is no minimum group size — couples book it regularly.
The Old Bay has the most interior space of any boat in our Alameda fleet and is fully enclosed with windows on all sides, which makes it the best choice in cool or damp weather. The Suncruiser trades a little cabin space for an open rear deck, so it is the better pick on a warm day or when you want to sit outside.
Yes. Bringing your own food and drinks is encouraged, and there is a picnic table on board. You can also pre-order a charcuterie box from Mosley's Café, our neighbour at Grand Marina, and have it delivered to the boat before you depart.
Park at the Grand Marina lot at 2099 Grand St, or in the public lot at the Grand Street boat ramp right next to the dock. Check in at the marina reception area, where there are restrooms, and our host will walk you to your boat.
